Fourth Edition of the Weekly Kanzaland Local Sports Talk Show "Pressbox Perspective"

After a week off the "Pressbox Perspective" returns for its fourth edition of the weekly local sports talk show with Mike Smith posted weekly here on MSCSports.net every Thursday.

The weekly show breaks down all Northeast Kansas high school sports throughout the high school athletic year and will be 30 minutes to an hour in length each week. Mike keeps you up to date all the latest results in all the area high school sports, while also bring you interviews with area athletes, coaches from non-football and basketball sports and others.

Also look at how Northeast Kansas area athletes that have graduated and are playing at the college level are doing in their careers and possibly interview some of those athletes from time to time, also.

This week Mike is joined by by KAIR 93.7 FM/1470 AM Sports Director, Pat Strathman to breakdown the area high school sports of football, cross country, tennis and volleyball.

First up, Mike and Pat talk high school football as they look take a look at the area leagues, talk about the latest rankings and talk about some of the key and premier match ups this week.

As the "Pressbox Perspective" continues, Mike and Pat took at the latest cross country rankings and now area teams have been performing thus far this year. They wrap up segment two with a quick look at some area girls tennis action and how teams have been progressing along this season.

In segment three, Mike and Pat take a look at the latest Kansas Volleyball Association rankings and breakdown the top area teams in volleyball.

Segment four highlights the "Pressbox Perspective" this week as Mike caught up with Highland CC Head football coach, Ryan Held after their big win over previously #4 Butler. Mike chatted with Coach Held about the big win, the progress in his second year at Highland and why he took the challenge of coaching the Scotties football program.

Wrapping up the show this week, Mike took a quick peek at some area athletes now competing at the college level. Mike looked at Highland and Benedictine athletics, along with highlight the performances of Lukas Koch of Centralia, Audrey Schmitz of Axtell both who are running cross country at K-State. While, Mike also highlighted volleyball players Chelsea Keating of Frankfort who plays for K-State and Erica Rottinghaus of Seneca who is leading the Missouri Western volleyball team.
