Redmen Fall in KC to Washington
By Tom Kautz

The Atchison Redmen traveled to Kansas City Friday evening to open KCAL play at Washington High School but the Wildcats came from behind to win 24-20.

In spite of a tremendous effort by Senior QB Tanner Huntington who threw 3 touchdown passes and a defense that swarmed all game, Atchison saw their early lead slip away and begin the conference at 0-1.  Austin Housh caught 2 TD's (28 & 19 yards) and Wade Gassman pulled in the third for a 72 yard sprint to the endzone.

The Bank of Atchison Player of the Game was Dustin Goodman (Soph, DL) who led the AHS defense and recovered a fumble to set up one score.

Next Friday Atchison continues KCAL action as they host Wyandotte in Amelia Earhart Stadium for a 7:00 kickoff.
