LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Kansas coach Charlie Weis has unveiled the depth chart for the Jayhawks' season opener against South Dakota, and it includes a couple of changes on the defensive side of the ball.

Cassius Sendish has moved from nickel back to starting free safety, and Victor Simmons has taken his place in the base defense. Samson Faifili moved ahead of Jake Love at one of the linebacker spots.

The only significant change on offense to the depth chart released Tuesday involves Zach Fondal, who moved from the backup spot at left tackle to starting right tackle. He replaces Riley Spencer from the lineup that Weis released at the start of fall camp.

Kansas opens its season against the Coyotes on Saturday night.
