Nebraska Class B and C District Track Meets Held Thursday

Class B and C District track meets were held Thursday.
In the Class B District at Auburn High School, the host Auburn Bulldogs and Syracuse tied for first in the girls’ team standings and the Crete boys were also team champions.  The Syracuse boys were second, while Falls City was 8th and Auburn 9th in the team standings.
Individually, it was a big day for Auburn seniors Tierra Williams and Catherine Davison.  Williams won three individual events – the long jump, triple jump, and 200-meter dash – and placed second in the 100-meter dash.  Davison won the 3200-meter run and finished second in the 800 and 1600.  She also anchored Auburn’s district champion 3200-meter relay team.  She was joined by Melissa Davison, Taylor Petersen and Emily Slama.  Also for Auburn, freshman Maggy Rieschick qualified for state in two events, winning the 300-meter hurdles and placing 3rd in the 400-meter dash.  Taylor Petersen qualified for state with a 3rd place finish in the 800-meter run.
Syracuse junior Haley Harsin also had a good day, winning the 400, 800, and 1600-meter events, and running a leg on the Rockets’ district champion 1600-meter relay team.  Emily Harsin won the 100-meter hurdles and was second in the 300-meter hurdles, and also qualified in the 1600-meter relay, along with Sydney Lintner and Jordan Shanks.  Syracuse also qualified for state with a second place finish in the 400-meter relay
On the boys’ side of the meet, three Falls City Tigers qualified for state in four events, including one district champion.  Cord Huettner won the shot put.  Mitchell Harling was second in the long jump and third in the triple jump, and Zach Jordening placed third in the high jump.  
Auburn had one state qualifier.  Quintin Boden qualified in the discus with a third place finish at the district meet.

In the Class C district meet at Conestoga, the Louisville girls and boys were the team champions. 
The Louisville girls totaled 113 points.  Johnson County Central was 5th with 54 points and HTRS was 8th with 35 points.
The Louisville boys easily won the team title with 137 points, with just 19 points separating the remaining seven teams.  JCC was 4th with 60 points and HTRS had 46 points for 8th place.
Individual state qualifiers from the girls’ meet include Elizabeth Railsback and Whitney Ramsey from HTRS, who both qualified in the pole vault.  Hannah Borrenpohl of JCC won the 200-meter dash and was second in the 100-meter dash, and Lauren Klaasmeyer of JCC won the 1600-meter run.
Boys state qualifiers in Class C include Jay Kuhns of JCC and Ben Railsback of HTRS in the pole vault.  Railsback also qualified with a first place finish in the high jump.  Spenser Sullivan of JCC was second in the high jump.  And Scott Hamman of HTRS qualified for state with a second place finish in the shot put.
