Wetmore led 8-0 after the first quarter but a 16-0 second quarter by Axtell gave them the lead 16-8 going to the half and ultimately carried them to the win. Axtell extended their lead on the first drive of the second half but Wetmore got back within in one score early in the fourth on a bad snap on a Axtell punt that the Cardinals recovered in the endzone for a TD.
Axtell was led by Quinn Buessing who was 14-22 for 212 yards with 2 TDs and a TD run, while Michael Swanson caught 6 passes for 108 yards with a 58-yard TD reception. Nate Buessing added a rushing TD and Hunter Koch caught 7 passes for 75 yards and TD.
Wetmore had Joel Hutfles finish 7-17 for 77 yards and a TD run.
