Holton led 13-6 before Zac Kramer found Tyler Gerety for a 67-yard touchdown giving NC a 14-13 lead. Holton then drove down the field and with 9.8 seconds left attempted a field goal which was blocked, but NC received an excessive celebration penalty allowing Holton's Matt Lierz to kick a game-winning field goal. Kramer threw for 200 yards and two TD, Gerety had 146 yards receivng a score. Holton's Konnor Tannahill and Canon Karn combined for 200 yards rushing.
