Doniphan West used the aerial attack to earn a road win over Hiawatha and match their win total from 2016 in the first three weeks of 2017. The Mustangs had Levi Watts go 16-27 for 342 yards with 3 TDs (INT) and a TD run, while Luke Blevins caught 5 passes for 180 yards with 2 TDs (24 & 55 yards). Zeb Speer had a 6 catch game with 106 yards and a 20-yard TD reception.
Hiawatha who led 7-6 after the first quarter had Michael Moreno notch a 6-yard TD run and 24-yard TD pass to Alan Simpson. Tyler Brockhoff tossed a 19-yard TD pass to Kaiser Isaac also for the Red Hawks.
