Football 8-Man - Dighton vs Hanover 11/19/2016 11:00 AM

Back in the State title game for the third straight year the Hanover Wildcats won their first State title since 2009 beating Dighton by point-rule ending the 8-Man DII State title game with 7:36 left in the contest. Dighton scored first to lead 6-0 and it was tight early with a 14-14 score but Hanover scored the final 20 points of the first half to lead 34-14. Wildcats went on to outscore Dighton 34-8 in the second half to secure the win. 

Hanover was led by Will Bruna who was 13-19 for 234 yards with 3 TDs, while Carter Bruna ran for 87 yards on 11 carries with 4 TDs. Kevin Deiderich ran for 43 yards on 7 carries with 2 TDs and caught 3 passes for 93 yards with 2 TDs and a 14-yard INT return TD to finish the game. Adam Fristchi caught a TD pass also for the Wildcats. The Wildcat defense forced 6 Dighton turnovers. 

Hanover finished the season giving up just 72 points in 12 games and only played two full four quarter games winning 10 of their 12 games by point rule.
