In a batle of 8-1 teams and rematch from week five earlier this season, Jeff West fell behind 14-0 at Hayden and could not complete a second half comeback before their season came to an end. Hayden prevailed 13-6 in week five and in the 3A Regionals on Friday night won 14-6, despite managing only 38 yards of total offense in the second half and having 10 penalties for 93 yards on the night.

Jeff West couldn't get anything going in the first half offensively as the Tigers managed only 27 total yards and had only one first down, which came via penalty. JW had a fourth down and one yard from their own 43 but punted trailing 14-0 with five minutes left in the second quarter and didn't get the ball agin until 7:53 to play in the third frame and then fumbled their second snap of the second half at their own 10-yard-line after a bad snap. Still, Jeff West held Hayden on the next four plays as Hayden opted to go for it on fourth down from inside the five instead of a kick to take a potential 17-0 lead. The Tigers responded by marching from their five-yard-line to the Hayden 13 but turned the ball over on downs on the best drive of the night which went 14 plays.

Hayden gave Jeff West a chance by fumbling at their own 10-yard line early in the fourth quarter and Jeff West scored on a fourth down play with an eight-yard TD pass from Quinn Neuenswander to Brayden Cruz.  The PAT missed and the score was 14-6 with 7:03 left in the game.  Jeff West held Hayden to a pair of three-and-outs to get the ball back two more times but couldn't pick up a first down on either possession.

Hayden held Jeff West to 107 total yards in the game and six first downs.  The Wildcats outgained the Tigers in the first half 182 to 27 total yards and got a pair of passing touchdowns from Johnny Hollaway to Desmond Purnell from 21 yards out in the first quarter and then to Cade Pavlik with a 13-yard TD strike in the second stanza before improving to 9-1 on the season. Hollaway was 8-11 passing for 93 yards and Hayden rushed for 127 with Will Devader's 76 yards leading the attack.

Jeff West got 75 yards from Bryce Clements but was just 7-15 passing for 37 yards before ending their season with a 8-2 mark, the most wins for the Tiger football program in more than two decades and also a share of their first-ever Big 7 League football title.  JW was led by 16 super seniors, many of whom played on varsity and started for multiple years. The Tigers will graduated eight starters on both sides of the football.
