Four Area Teams Highlight Week 10 High School Football Rankings

Just eight teams remain among each classification throughout high school football and with that the newest set of rankings have been released with four area teams named

In Class 3A the Sabetha Bluejays continue to be highly ranked sitting at No. 2 in the kpreps.com rankings after a 26-8 win over Perry Lecompton last week. The defending 3A State Champs are off to a 10-0 start to the season and have a road matchup at Parsons in the sectional round of the playoffs Friday night.

Class 1A continues to house two area teams, as Centralia is once again at No. 4 while Jackson Heights is at No. 5.

The Panthers continued their dominant run last week which saw them win their eighth straight game by taking down Troy 41-18 for the second time this season. Centralia is now 8-2 on the season and will host Olpe this week in sectionals.

Jackson Heights meanwhile was impressive once again last week taking down Valley Heights 35-20 with three touchdown passes from Cable Wareham. The Cobras are 9-1 on the season with their only blemish coming in a close loss to Olpe, and Jackson Heights will have a road matchup at Pitt-Colgan Friday night.

The final ranked area team comes in 8-man-DII as the Axtell Eagles continue to sit in the No. 2 ranking right behind Hanover after a dominant 80-30 win over Rock Hills. The Eagles are 9-1 with their lone loss coming by eight points to Hanover and will host Waverly in the sectional round this week.
