Less than a week remains in the regular season of the high school volleyball season as Sub-State brackets will be announced next Wednesday and postseason play with Sub-State action is set for Saturday, October 21st. The Week six edition of the Kansas Volleyball Association rankings has been released and the latest polls feature six area teams.

After getting the #1 spot back in Class 1A-Division I the Centralia Panthers continue to hold that spot this week. The Panthers picked up wins over Onaga and Hanover Tuesday night to improve to 30-1 on the season. The Valley Falls Dragon girls are the next highest ranked area team in 1A-DI as they move up two spots to #4 this week and sit at 27-6 on the year after beating Mclouth on Tuesday night. The Hanover girls fell down two spots in the poll to #6 and sit at 24-9 on the season after beating Onaga but falling to Centralia on Tuesday. Washington County and Frankfort both continue to check in at #9 and #10, respectively this week in the 1A-DI rankings. The Tigers sit at 19-10 on the year after beating Troy and Doniphan West on Tuesday, while Frankfort topped Blue Valley and fell to Valley Heights on Tuesday to move to 20-10 on the year.

The only other area team that continues to be ranked is in Class 3A and that is the Nemaha Central Thunder who once again come in at #5 in the polls. The Thunder are 28-2 on the season after beating Sabetha in a pair Big Seven League contests on Tuesday.
