Jackson Heights & Royal Valley Lead Area Performances at Royal Valley Cross Country Invite

Royal Valley played host to cross country action on Thursday and a three other area teams were in action along with several other teams. 

Leading the area performances was Jackson Heights and the host Royal Valley with multiple Top 10 individual performances. 

Jackson Heights boys earned second place as a team finishing only five points behind the Christ Prep. Dalton Chartier led the Cobra boys posting a time of 18:49.93 to earn third place, while Drew Holliday earned sixth place with a time of 19:23.54 and Xavier Fritz nabbed ninth place behind a time of 19:33.99. AJ Mock and Kolton Brenner rounded out the Cobra boy’s team points total and both finished in the Top 20 placing 17th and 19th, respectively. Lady Cobras were led by Shelby Phillips who with a time of 22:35.27 earned fourth place, while Faith Little took sixth place posting a time of 22:59.36 and Hanna Davault snagged tenth place with a time of 23:43.57. 

The host Royal Valley Panthers were led by a pair of Top 10 finishes on the day as Garrett Hicks ran to a time of 19:05.17 to earn fifth in the boys competition and Katie Hanshaw took eighth in the girl’s race with a time of 23:28.14. Nue Tinajero also finished in the Top 20 for the Panthers placing 14th in the boy’s race. 

Holton was also in action and was led by Hannah Ent who raced as a JV runner but ran all JV girls runners ran with the varsity and Ent placed 14th out of all the varsity and JV runners. 

Mclouth also competed on the day at the Royal Valley Invite.
