Eight Area Volleyball Teams Ranked in Latest KVA Week 3 Rankings

The volleyball season is in full force and plenty of action has been logged on the court for teams in the State of Kansas and the Kansas Volleyball Association has released its Week three rankings and eight area teams are ranked this week. Many area teams remained ranked by two new teams jumped into the polls and two fell out. 

Both Class 1A-Division I and Class 2A feature three area teams in the rankings this week. In Class 1A-DI the Centralia Panthers had been ranked #1 all season but this week fall one spot to #2 in the polls behind Goessel. Panthers are 18-1 on the season and went 3-0 with wins over Washington County, Axtell and Linn on Tuesday in their most recent action. Hanover Wildcats continue to be ranked in 1A-DI polls also checking in at #5 down one spot this week as they sit at 20-7 on the season after going 2-0 versus Troy and Blue Valley on Tuesday. Jumping into the 1A-DI polls this week are the Frankfort Wildcats as they are 11-3 on the season after beating Doniphan West and Onaga on Tuesday and jump into the polls in a big way coming in at #6. 

In 2A two Northeast Kansas League teams remain ranked this week, while a Twin Valley League team joins them in the polls. The Valley Falls Dragons are up two spots to #7 this week as they are 14-4 on the season picking up wins over Oskaloosa and Maur Hill on Tuesday in NEKL play. The Jefferson County North Chargers are up one spot to #9 in the 2A polls and sit at 13-5 on the season snagging wins over McLouth and Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday. The new area team joining them in the 2A polls is the Valley Heights Mustangs who are 11-6 on the season after wins over Clifton-Clyde and Wetmore on Tuesday and break into the polls for the first time this season at #10. 

A pair of Big Seven League teams continue to be ranked in Class 3A as the Nemaha Central Thunder move up one spot to #5 this week. The Thunder swept Hiawatha in a pair of Big Seven League contests on Tuesday to improve to 17-1 on the season. The Royal Valley Panthers are up one spot also coming in at #9 this week and are 12-4 on the season after sweeping Holton in a pair of three set League wins on Tuesday.
