After being named one of the nations top 50 junior college running backs in March, former Maur Hill-Mount Academy Raven Harry Trotter has announced that he will be continuing his football career at the University of Louisville.

Trotter announced his decision Monday via Twitter, after spending just one year at Fort Scott Community College.

In his freshman season at FSCC, Trotter rushed for 503 yards and eight touchdowns.

He heads to Louisville as a preferred walk-on, but with just two healthy backs on scholarship, he feels he can make an instant impact.

“I think I can fit pretty well into their offense,” Trotter said. “I just want to get out there and help the team get better in any way I can.”

Trotter is also excited to have the opportunity to play alongside last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson, who quickly proved to be one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in the nation.

“It’s going to be crazy, just crazy to think about it, it’s kind of surreal.” he said. “He’s just a different type of athlete that can do a lot of different things.”

It hasn’t been an easy road though for Trotter, but he is excited to try to put his hometown of Atchison back on the map.

“Atchison just means a lot to me, of course being my hometown,” he said. “I’m just thankful to be doing some great things and just happy the way things have fallen into place.”

Trotter expects to be in Louisville by the end of May, and can’t wait to see what his future holds.

“Just (looking forward to) being in the Division I scene and seeing what the environment is like,” Trotter said. “I’m just really excited to get out to the ‘Ville.”
