KABC Baseball Rankings (Week One) - click here

The baseball season is finally in full swing after Mother Nature gave us plenty of rainouts stalling the start of the season for some area teams. The Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches have released week one rankings with Top 10's in each classification and three area teams find themselves in the polls. 

The Troy Trojans coming off a third place performance in Class 2-1A last year have started the 2017 season strong with an 8-0 record and rank #2 in the KABC Class 2-1A Top 10 rankings. Trojans opened the season with a pair of wins over Nemaha Central and also had doubleheader wins over Doniphan West and McLouth on the season along with a win over St. Joseph Christian and North Andrew. 

Valley Falls Dragons join Troy in the Class 2-1A rankings coming in at #6 in the Top 10 and are off to a 4-2 start to the 2017 season. Dragons earned sweeps of Osage City and Pleasant Ridge but fell in a pair of games to Oskaloosa. 

In Class 3A the Nemaha Central Thunder claimed the State title last year after an exceptional season and this year are off to a 5-3 start and rank #4 in 3A KABC Top 10 poll. Thunder have won four in a row with sweeps of Sabetha and ACCHS and split with Jeff West on the season, while falling in a pair of games to Troy to open the year. 

The baseball season continues to roll along as teams look to earn wins and gear up for Regionals in May.
