Trio Of Area Senior Basketball Stars Selected For Annual KBCA All-Star Games

Full KBCA All-Star Game Rosters - Girls & Boys

Three area senior basketball stars from Northeast Kansas have been selected for the annual Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star games set for Saturday, June 24th at Kansas Wesleyan University. 

Two area girls in Centralia Panther, Cassidy Haufler and Hanover Wildcat, Ashton Jueneman were selected for the All-Star game, while in the boys game Hanover Wildcat, Will Bruna was selected. 

Haufler helped Centralia cap a year in which the Panthers finished 24-2 overall winning the Twin Valley League regular season and tournament titles, while taking third place at State. Cassidy posted 14.5 points per game along with nine rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game her senior year and earned first team All-TVL for the second time, while being named first team All-State. The Panther senior was a key piece of the 2016 1A-DI State title team, along with the 2015 State runner-up team.

Jueneman helped Hanover finish the season as the Class 1A-DI State Champs as the lady Wildcats claimed the first girls basketball State title in Hanover school history and finished the year 24-2. Ashton averaged 11.9 points per game along with 8.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game earning second team All-TVL and third team All-State honors. The wins at the State tournament for Hanover marked their first in school history. 

Bruna helped guide the Hanover Wildcat boys to their second State title in the last three years and sixth in school history in boys’ basketball as the team capped the year with a 24-2 record. Will averaged 16.7 points per game, while posting 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.2 steals per game earning first team All-TVL for the third-straight year and first team All-State for the third time, also. The Hanover senior helped the Wildcats win boys basketball State title in two of the last three years, while finishing fourth the other year. 

All three area athletes will suit with some of the top other senior basketball players in the State and take the court on Saturday, June 24th at Kansas Wesleyan University for the KBCA All-Star game with the action starting at 6:00pm.
