Semifinal = Marysville 70, Silver Lake 56

It was a faced paced and high scoring affair as #1 seed Marysville outscored #4 seed Silver Lake 40-25 in the second half to pull away for the win.  The Bulldogs hit 13 of 17 free throws and 6 treys while improving to 9-2 on the season.  Gabe Piechl scored 18 points and Jayton Haggard posted 15, while Brennan Wetter had 12 (all in the second half) and Jack Blumer added 10.  Silver Lake droped to 7-3 with the loss and could not keep the scoring pace up after taking a 31-30 lead at halftime. Mason Griffin scored 22 points for the Eagles.

Semifinal = Nemaha Central 49, Falls City 40 in overtime

The Tigers came out hot and jumped to a 14-5 advantage before Nemaha scored the next 12 points of the game to go ahead 17-14 in the second quarter.  The lead then changed hands five times in the second quarter with the Tigers making the last shot to take a 20-19 lead into halftime.  Behind stellar play from Dylan Enneking and Trenton Henry, the Thunder outscored Falls City 10-6 in the third period, but the lead flipped a couple more times in the fourth quarter before a shot by Kyle Leafty of the Tigers tied the game at 36 with just over a minute remaining.  Both teams turned the ball over in the closing seconds of regulation as intense man-to-man pressure defense dominated both sides of the court throughout this game.

After making only 3 of 11 free throws in regulation, Nemaha Central came out and scored the first six points of overtime and ended up making 9 of 11 foul shots in the extra session to pull away for the win.  Mitchell Henry scored nine points in the first quarter for the Thunder and then added nine more in OT to finish with 22 points, while making 7 of 9 charity tosses in the final four minutes.  Nate Beck added 11 before fouling out, but it was Henry who earned "Player to Bank On" honors from the Citizens State Bank and Trust Company in Hiawatha, in large part to his defense that held Brandt Chapple to just 10 points, after Chapple had posted 32 in the opening round.  Leafty led Falls City with 16 points and Collin Cook played great off the bench with 8 before the Tigers fell to 9-6.

Nemaha Central is now 9-2 on the season and has beaten Falls City five straight times, including three of the past four years Championship Games in the mid-season Tournament.  Nemaha has won their tournament 14 total times and five of the last six seasons.

Consolation = Jackson Heights 35, Hiawatha 28

It was a slow start and offensive struggle in the afternoon game as Hiawatha led 5-0 with just 1:40 left in the first quarter.  Jackson Heights led 11-10 at halftime and then Wyatt Olberding got going and scored all 19 of his points in the second half to help the Cobras to the win.  Olberding was 9 of 10 at the stripe in the second half as Jackson Heights improved to 7-3.  HIawatha got a season high 14 points from Alec Elffner, including a three-point basket in all four quarters.  Leading scorer Joseph Kunkel was held scoreless as the Redhawks fell to 3-7 in their lowest scoring game of the season.

Consolation = St. Mary's 60, Horton 45

The teams were tied at 12 after one quarter but St. Mary's took a 29-21 lead into the locker room at never looked back in the second half.  Jeffery Kleinsmith had 13 points and Caden Hurla added 12 as the Bears improved to 7-3 and made eight triples in the win.  Horton was paced by Craig Wahwahsuck with 12 points while Nathan Isaac added 10 before Horton dropped to 6-4.
