Twin Valley League 8-Man Football All-League Honors Handed Out

The Twin Valley League was competitive yet again this year at the 8-Man level and added two varsity programs this year as Onaga made the transition to 8-Man football and Wetmore had their first year of varsity football since the late 1980's. The League was led by Hanover who on the year as they claimed the 8-Man Division II State title. With the season in the books the TVL has handed out its All-League honors. 

The Hanover Wildcats put together another stellar season and punctuated it by winning the 8-Man Division II State title their first State title since 2009 finishing the year 12-0 and 5-0 in the TVL. Six different Wildcats earned All-League honors including three picking up first team All-League honors on both offense and defense. Senior, Will Bruna got the nod for first team honors at quarterback and defensive back, while senior, Adam Zarybnicky picked up first team honors at linebacker and end and senior, Adam Fristchi snagged first team honors at offensive line and linebacker. Kevin Diederich also picked up first team All-League honors for Hanover getting the honor at runningback, while Trevor Klipp was named second team at defensive and offensive line both and Carlos Emmanuel earned second team honors at defensive line also. 

The Clifton-Clyde Eagles were the only other TVL team to make the playoffs as they qualified for the 8-Man Division I playoffs and finished the year 8-3, while going 3-0 in the TVL. Five Eagles earned All-League honors led by first team All-League honors at defensive and offensive line for Eagle senior, Justin Shutt, while Caleb Charbonneau got the nod for first team at runningback. Seniors, Michael Cyr and Shawn Fahey both also got first team All-League honors as an at large honoree for Cyr and at linebacker for Fahey, while junior, Elias Girard picked up second team honors at defensive back. 

Frankfort Wildcats finished the season 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the TVL and have four guys that earned All-League honors. Senior, Jedd Rose leads the Wildcat honorees picking up first team All-League at both offensive and defensive line, while senior, Rylen Bailey picked up first team honors at end and second team at linebacker. Junior, Lys Nack was named first team at specialist and senior, Adam Kenworthy snagged second team honors at both quarterback and defensive back. 

Both Axtell Eagles and Linn Bulldogs finished 4-5 on the season and 2-2 in League play on the year. For Axtell only one player earned All-League honors as junior, Michael Swanson picked up first team honors as an at large selection. While Linn had four players earn All-League honors with junior, Evan Bott and senior, Chance Peters getting first team honors at defensive back and defensive line, respectively. While senior, Armando Perales was named second team at offensive line and senior, Kalen Richardson picked up second team honors at linebacker. 

Onaga Buffaloes and Blue Valley-Randolph Rams each finished 2-7 on the season each tallying just one League victory on the season. Second team All-League honors led Onaga as seniors, Ben Kufahl and Tyler Herrman each got the nod at runningback and end, while on defense seniors, Logan Marten and Quentin Lara each picked up second team honors at linebacker and defensive line. Blue Valley was led by senior, Trevor Schwerdt in the All-League honors as he earned second team honors at runningback and linebacker, while senior, Bradley Young picked up second team honors at end. 

The Wetmore Cardinals finished the season 0-9 overall and 0-6 in their first varsity season in years. Cardinal senior, Trenton Rowland earned All-League honors picking up second team honors at offensive line.
