An outstanding start by one team and a fantastic finish for the other left the fans exhausted as Maur Hill-Mount Academy came from behind to win over Pleasant Ridge 28-24.
Senior Night in Easton began as scripted. Pleasant Ridge took the opening kickoff and used almost 6 minutes in an opening drive which gave them a lead they would hold until the final seconds. The Rams were up 16-0 early in the second quarter and looking to extend their lead when Cameron Taft scooped up a fumble and took it 75 yards for the Ravens first score. The momentum had swung and MH-MA scored 4 of the games next 5 touchdowns. The final points came with 0:16 left in the contest. QB Jack Caudle found Taft in the back of the end zone from 6 yards out capping a 70+ yard drive in the final 2 minutes with no timeouts and earning the Ravens a hard-fought road win.
The Rams were led by their Quarterback Brayden Bargary who had a career-best 179 yards rushing on 35 carries. For MH-MA it was Ronald Falk-Tindale with 125 on 13 rushes.
Next Friday, District competition continue as Pleasant Ridge travels to Effingham to face Atchison County and Maur Hill-Mount Academy has a home date with Immac/Maranatha.
