Seven of the past eight matchups were decided by 13 points or less and five of the last seven by seven points or less but this time it was a one-sided affair when Nemaha Central and Jeff West meet up. The Thunder rolled to 4-0 routing the struggling Jeff West Tigers 56-0.

The Tigers busted an 11-yard on the first offense play of the game but after that managed only two more plays the rest of the game that went over five yards as Nemaha Central's defense became an impenetrable wall. On fourth down of the first Jeff West drive the Tigers were unable to get the punt away cleanly setting up the Thunder on the Tiger 32-yard line and three plays later Nemaha Central found the endzone on a 23-yard touchdown run by Ryan Hasenkamp to make it 7-0 with 9:25 left in the first quarter.

The Tigers on the next drive went for a screen pass but Derek Uphaus tipped the pass and picked it off giving Nemaha Central the ball on the Tiger 16-yard line and Jacob Koelzer finished off the short drive with a one-yard touchdown run. The short fields continued to come for Nemaha Central setting up on the Tigers side of the field just about every drive in the first half and scored on eight of the 10 offensive drives in the half. By the end of the first quater it was 28-0 Nemaha Central as Koelzer and Hasenkamp each added a rushing touchdown to their first ones of the night coming from seven and ten-yards out.

In the second quarter Koelzer busted a 49-yard touchdown run to visit the endzone for the third time at that point for the Thunder and then Mitchell Heiman picked off two Jeff West passes setting up Nemaha Central in the redzone each time and the Thunder scored after one of the turnovers. Koelzer added his fourth rushing touchdown of the game, while Hasenkamp hit David Delany for a 24-yard touchdown pass that was almost intercepted by Jeff West, while Mitchell Henry scored the final points of the half and game with a 17-yard touchdown run with 1:17 left in the first half making it 56-0.

Several reserves played late in the second quarter and the entire second half for Nemaha Central as the Thunder defense held Jeff West off the scoreboard for their third shutout of the year and gave up just 53 total yards of offense to the Tigers, while forcing three turnovers. Thunder defense also forced 10 negative yardage plays in the contest and the defensive unit earned Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA.

Offensively Nemaha Central had Koelzer with eight carries for 87 yards and four touchdowns, while Mitchell Henry ran for 116 yards on eight carries with a touchdown and Ryan Hasenkamp added 64 yards on five carries with two touchdowns and was 5-12 for 56 yards with a touchdown.

Jeff West in the loss was led by Bryce Clements who ran for 36 yards on 19 carries.

The win moves Nemaha Central to 4-0 on the season, while Jeff West fell to 0-4 on the year. Both teams continue their season next week as the Thunder head to Centralia and Jeff West will host Hiawatha.
