Six Area Teams in Week Three KVA Volleyball Rankings

Multiple tournaments in the books and several League contests through the first three weeks of the high school volleyball season and six area teams find themselves in the Kansas Volleyball Association rankings this week. 

Leading the area teams in the rankings continues to be the Centralia Panthers who jumped into the #1 spot in Class 1A-Division I last week and remain in the top spot this week. The Panthers are 19-0 on the season after snagging a pair of Twin Valley League wins Tuesday night at home against Axtell and Blue Valley and won the Hiawatha Invitational title back on Saturday. Both Hanover and Immaculata also remain in the rankings this week as the Wildcats fell two spots to #5 and the Raiders remain ranked #7. Hanover sits at 17-3 on the season after going 3-0 on Tuesday night in TVL action against Washington County, Doniphan West and Linn, while taking third at the Republic County Invite back on Saturday. For Immaculata they improved to 13-4 Tuesday night with Northeast Kansas League wins over Horton and Jackson Heights, while placing third at the Hiawatha Invitational on Saturday. 

In Class 1A-Division II the Axtell Eagles remain the only area team in the rankings checking in again at #6 in the polls this week. Axtell with a 1-1 night Tuesday in TVL play, beating Blue Valley and falling to Centralia are now 10-4 on the season. 

Class 2A continues to see the Jefferson County North Chargers in the rankings but the Chargers moved down one spot this week to #4. JCN sits at 17-2 on the season after NEKL wins at home against McLouth and Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday and took fourth place at the Hiawatha Invitational on Saturday suffering their first two losses of the season. Joining them this week in the rankings and ranked for the first time this year is the Washington County Tigers who jump into the 2A polls at #9 this week. Washington County is off to an 11-4 record this year going 2-1 at home on Tuesday night with wins over Doniphan West and Linn, while falling to Hanover. 

Volleyball action continues this week with area teams hitting the court on Thursday and Saturday for contests and tournament play.
