Sabetha Wins Big Seven Boys Golf Quad With Nemaha Central & Holton

Three Big Seven League teams teed it up at Spring Creek golf course in Seneca on Monday in League action and it was Sabetha coming out on top in the competition beating out the host Nemaha Central and Holton. 

It was a clean sweep on the top spots for the Sabetha Bluejays as both the varsity and junior varsity four-man team scores were tops and the Bluejays had the top individual rounds on the day. Sabetha varsity four-man team posted a team score of 158 to win by five-strokes over Holton who carded a 163 as a team, while Nemaha Central finished third with a 181. In the JV contest Sabetha notched a team score of 186 to take first while Holton took second with a 202 and Nemaha Central finished with a team score of 222. 

The Bluejays had the three best varsity scores on the day as Jesse Burger paced Sabetha with a 37 to take first place and Jonah Montgomery and Garrett Scott took second and third after carding rounds of 39 each. A round of 43 finished out the Sabetha varsity's team score and both Connor Epple and Noah Garber each posted 43's on the day, while Reese Lierz had a round of 51. 

Holton had AJ Haussler and Hayden May finish fourth and fifth on the day with rounds of 39 and 40 in the varsity competition. Brian Nelson carded a 41 for the Wildcats and a 43 was shot by both Austin Shepley and Brandt Rose for the Wildcats, while Kaden Brandt also competed carding a 45. 

Nemaha Central was led by Dylan Enneking who shot a 42 on the day, while Dalton Schmelzle, Corey Heiman and Michael Love finished out the Thunder four-man team score with rounds of 44, 46 and 49. Billy Mitchell and Collin Feldkamp both also competed for Nemaha Central notching rounds of 56 and 59 on the day.
