Johnson-Brock Wins State Volleyball Title

The Johnson-Brock Eagle Volleyball team turned their wild-card berth into the Class D-1 State Volleyball Tournament into a State Championship Saturday defeating Pioneer Conference foe Diller-Odell in three games 26-24; 25-11; 27-25.

The Championship game was the fifth matchup of the schools this season and prior to Saturday, each team had won two times.

Freshman Fallon Stutheit had a match high 13 kills, senior Emerson Carbajal had 10, sophomore Kaitlyn Simon had 18 digs and sophomore Brynn Westenburg had 30 assists in the match.

Stutheit, Carbajal and Westenburg were named to the D1 All-Tournament Team. The Eagles finish the season 25-9.  The Griffins finish the season 31-5. Madison Jurgens and Theresa Zarybnicky were named All-Tournament for Diller-Odell.  

Johnson-Brock last won a State Volleyball title in 1993.
