Nebraska High School Football Playoffs Begin Thursday

The Nebraska High School Football playoffs for 8-Man teams begin Thursday. 

In Class D2, reigning state champion Falls City Sacred Heart will extend the schools state-record streak for consecutive years in the playoffs to 28, when they host Emerson-Hubbard at 4 p-m at Jug Brown Stadium. 

The 5th ranked Irish are 6-2,  Emerson-Hubbard is 5-3. Sacred Heart is seeded 7th and the Pirates are a #10 seed. You can hear the game live on A-M 1230, KTNC beginning at 3:35 with pre-game coverage.

An Irish win would match them up with the winner of the Stuart – Osceola game which will be played next Wednesday.  The Irish would have to travel for the next round.  

In Class D1,  the Pawnee City Indians will travel to Beemer to take on #3 ranked Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 5 p-m.  The Indians are 3-6 on the season. The Bluejays are 8-0, ranked third in the state.

On Friday we will bring you Class C1 playoff action on SUNNY 101.3.  #9 Falls City will be on the road to take on 3rd ranked Norfolk Catholic.  Gametime is 2 p-m with pre-game coverage to start at 1:35 p-m.  

In Class C2 action on Friday Southern is at #5 Hastings St. Cecelia and #9 ranked Freeman will host 10th ranked Stanton.
