Atchison Girl's Take Third as Team & Jaloma Wins Regional in 4A Cross Country Action

At Wyandotte County Park on Saturday it was several Class 4A schools meeting up for cross country Regional action with spots at the State competition up for grabs.

Pacing the way for the area teams was Atchison Redmen, Sarah Jaloma as she raced to a Regional title with a time of 15.51.01, to win by nearly 13 seconds on the day and help the lady Red qualify for State as a team also just edging out Basehor-Linwood by one-point to finish third as a team. Emily Jaloma, also grabbed a Top 10 finish for Atchison finishing 10th with a time of 16:52.51.

Perry Lecompton was the only other area school to have any qualifiers for the Class 4A State competition as Lexia Jamison raced to fifth place in the girl's race with a time of 16:27.98 to earn a spot at State.

Royal Valley, Holton and Jeff West had runners also compete on the day at Wyandotte County Park in Regional cross country action.

All the area runners that qualified for State in Class 1A now turn their attention to the State competition on November 1st at Wamego Country Club.
