Six weeks are in the books and District play starts for all teams in all classes this week. In the latest rankings across the State two area teams remain ranked, while many others continue to get attention.

The Holton Wildcats continue to remain ranked in Class 4A-Division II and check in at #2 across the board in the rankings across the State as they are 5-1 on the season topping ACCHS 47-6 in week six. The only other 4A school getting attention in the polls is Atchison who is 6-0 and won the KCAL title with a 15-12 win over KC Wyandotte last week and are getting attention in the Class 4A-Division I polls.

In Class 3A multiple area teams are receiving attention to possibly break into the Top five across the polls in the State as Nemaha Central, Centralia and Horton are all getting attention in some polls across the State. Nemaha Central and Centralia are both 5-1 on the season as the Thunder picked up a 14-12 win over Jeff West in week six, while Centralia saw their 18-game winning streak come to an end with a 42-6 loss to Rossville (the #2 3A team in the State). The Horton Chargers are 5-0 on the season and took down Maur Hill-Mount Academy 28-0 last week to win the Northeast Kansas League title.

The Troy Trojans continue to get attention in Class 2-1A polls as Troy is 5-1 on the season after routing Maranatha 56-7 in week six action to remain unbeaten in District play.

At the 8-Man level, the Hanover Wildcats continue to remain ranked at #1 in 8-Man Division I as the Wildcats continue to win moving 6-0 after beating Lincoln 54-8 in week six.

With only three games left in the regular season teams all have their sights set on contending for a playoff spot in their classes.
