Three Twin Valley League teams traveled to Southern Cloud to hit the volleyball court on Saturday and a pair of them notched the top two performances of the day as the Linn Bulldogs claimed the tournament title, with Hanover finishing second and Blue Valley-Randolph also competing at the competition.

Action got rolling in pool play with both Hanover and Linn each winning their pools by going 3-0 in pool play action. In pool "A", Hanover picked up straight set wins over Rock Hills (25-14, 25-8), Southern Cloud (25-21, 25-17) and Thunder Ridge (25-23, 25-11). While in pool "B" Linn took care of both Blue Valley-Randolph (25-15, 25-13) and Bennington (25-17, 25-23) in straight sets, but needed three sets to top St. John's Tipton (25-22, 24-25, 25-12) to win the pool. For Blue Valley-Randolph they went 0-3 in pool play not only falling to Linn, but Bennington (17-25, 23-25) and St. John's/Tipton (13-25, 20-25).

In bracket play, Hanover took on Blue Valley-Randolph and won in straight sets (25-17, 25-18) to move into the Semifinals, while Linn defeated Rock Hills in straight sets (25-15, 25-13), also advancing. In the other opening bracket play action Bennington beat Southern Cloud (25-14, 25-15) and St. John's/Tipton topped Thunder Ridge (21-25, 25-20, 25-17).

The Semifinals had Hanover against Bennington and Linn versus St. John's/Tipton and both matchup would be won in straight sets but the teams from the Twin Valley League. Hanover took care of Bennington 25-17, 25-22, while Linn won over St. John's/Tipton 25-14, 25-17, setting up a TVL Championship.

In the Championship contest it would be the 1A-Division I ranked Linn Bulldogs claiming the straight set win over Hanover to win the Southern Cloud Invitational with a 25-13, 25-11 Championship match win.

Linn wrapped up the day 6-0 and first, while Hanover went 5-1 and finished second and Blue Valley-Randolph went 0-4 in competition.
